Starting with the traditional Korean chutadae, an opening parade will be held from Gwanghwamun Square to Sejongdae-ro, with the embassy, foreigners in Korea, performers from friendly cities (nine cities) and citizens participating.
In particular, this year, the parade section was expanded not only to Gwanghwamun Square but also to some sections of Sejong-daero to provide abundant attractions to citizens and foreign tourists
The opening ceremony will be held from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. on the 24th, from 12 p.m. to 9 p.m. on the 25th, and from 12 p.m. to 7 p.m. on the 26th.
The World Food and Dessert Zone, which receives great attention every year, will be held from the 25th to the 26th around Cheonggye Plaza and Cheonggye Stream. With more countries participating than usual, it will expand to the northern end of Cheonggye Stream this year, introducing Seoul citizens to popular foods around the world. On the stage of Gwanghwamun Square, visitors can see traditional performances of nine Seoul friendly cities.
Cheonggyecheonro will host the World Food Zone where 46 countries participate. Visitors can find familiar foods such as croissants and baguettes from France, waffles from Belgium, and goulash from Austria, to various foods from all over the world, such as Languisi from Hungary, Acai Ball from Brazil, Arefa from Colombia, and Copta from Morocco.
In particular, this year, it will be held as an eco-friendly food festival in cooperation with the embassy, such as reducing the use of disposable products by promoting the use of multi-use containers.
At Gwanghwamun Square, “embassies and urban tourism zones” will be decorated. Forty-seven countries will participate in the embassy’s promotional booth, where visitors can try on traditional costumes from each country and purchase souvenirs and specialties. Eleven countries will participate in the “urban tourism zone,” where visitors can also get tourist information of countries they have not usually been able to access, such as South America, Africa, and the Middle East.
