UNESCO World Geopark ‘Pocheon’ hosts Hantan River Garden Festa

A grand festival will be held at Hantan River in Pocheon-si, Gyeonggi-do, a UNESCO world geological park, where you can fall into the atmosphere of fragrant autumn flowers and gardens.

Pocheon City announced that it will hold “2024 Pocheon Hantangang Garden Festa” from Sept. 7 to Oct. 13 at Pocheon Hantangang Ecological Landscape Complex.

“2024 Pocheon Hantan River Garden Festa” will be held at the 200,000 pyeong ecological landscape complex. Various events such as experience programs and performances are prepared as well as various autumn flowers and garden exhibitions, providing a special experience for those who love nature and flowers.

In particular, the Y-shaped Hantan River suspension bridge, which is 410m long, will open on the first day of the Garden Festa.

Through the suspension bridge connecting the Garam Nuri Observatory and the ecological landscape complex, you can observe the superb view of the Columnar jointing, and trick art paintings on the bridge pillar will give visitors a new pleasure.

Visitors can freely explore various gardens, including the Hantan River Y-shaped suspension bridge, during the event.

Visitors can appreciate flowers that are in full bloom depending on the season, such as silver grass, irises, gauras, dapsari, and cosmos, and gardens decorated with various themes such as silver grass mazes and sculptures (topiary) welcome visitors. In addition, visitors can rent an electric bicycle to tour the spacious ecological landscape complex more conveniently.

In addition, the senior model fashion show and garden busking weekend performance, which will be held as a special event on October 5, are one of the things to see without missing.

The “2024 Hantan River Garden Festa” runs from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. every day.
Admission fee is 6,000 won for adults and 4,000 won for children & teenagers (Pocheon citizens can enter for free)
