Busan launches local currency ‘Busan Pay’ for foreigners.
The Busan Metropolitan Government announced on the 19th that it will launch “BUSAN Pay,” a local currency service exclusively for foreigners, on June 20th.
Busan Pay is a service that provides foreigners with △ Camellia payment and cashback benefits △ public transportation △ foreign language menu and tourism information guide △ Vijit Busan Pass purchase and use with a single mobile app and prepaid card.
Prepaid cards can be issued at Gimhae Airport, kiosks in Busan Station, and tourist information centers in the city.
In the case of the Dongbaekjeon payment function, it charges with an overseas credit card through a mobile app, and the payment is supported by card and QR method. In addition to the existing Dongbaekjeon affiliated stores, payment can be made at some large shopping malls such as department stores and duty-free stores.
Tourism information will be provided in multiple languages such as English, Japanese, and Chinese, and leaflets and banners will be installed in multiple languages for promotion. The foreign language menu information service will be gradually promoted in connection with Busan Pay from the second half of this year.
As a transportation function, you can purchase and use Busan Metropolitan Railway’s mobile QR regular tickets (1st and 3rd day tickets), and it also provides customer response services through a foreign language call center dedicated to Busan Pay and a one-on-one inquiry function within the mobile app.
