Bonghwa Buncheon Santa Village, a place to visit in December by KTOA
Buncheon Santa Village in Bonghwa-gun, Gyeongsangbuk-do, the only Santa-themed village in Korea, has been selected as a “December recommended place” by the Korea Tourism Organization.
Buncheon Santa Village is a place that created the village of Santa that everyone remember in childhood to believed hide in remote mountainous area, and also it’s the place called Korea’s Siberia. All the roofs of the village are decorated in red, and the Christmas atmosphere is decorated everywhere, including large trees, Santa, and various photo zones.

Buncheon Station, where Santa Village is located, is where the Baekdudaegan Gorge Train (V-train), a tourist train, passes and is a train travel spot where you can see the beautiful scenery of Baekdudaegan Gorge.
The Midwinter Buncheon Santa Village Festival will be held here for 58 days from December 21st to the January 16th of the next year.
Visitors can enjoy a variety of hands-on contents such as VR experience center, four-season sledding slope, and mini train. In particular, Santa Claus, a Finnish official who received great responses during his first visit to Santa Village last year, will visit Santa Village again this year.
From the 27th to the 29th of December, the Midwinter Santa Village Companion Culture Festival will also be held where you can enjoy winter with your pets.
Park Hyun-guk, head of Bonghwa County, said, “Buncheon Santa Village, which has been reborn as a prestigious theme tourist destination, has been selected as a representative tourist destination for winter with national attention and love. We will also make full preparations to meet the expectations of visitors in the middle of winter.”
