2024 Danyang Lake Park Water Sports Festival

The Korean Paddle Surf Association (KAPP) announced on the 31st that the “2024 Danyang Lake Park Water Sports Festival” will be held from August 1 to 4 at Sangjinnaru Mooroo in Danyang.

The water sports festival will be hosted and organized by the Danyang-gun Sports Council and organized by the Korean Paddle Surf Pro Association (KAPP), Danyang-gun Sports Association, and Danyang-gun Sports Association.

Power and non-powered water sports experiences, water sports performances and bubble shows, opening ceremonies and eve ceremonies, children’s water parks and various experience booths will be operated free of charge, and the 2024 Danyang K-SUP CUP competition will be held.

There are five types of water sports that can be experienced during the festival: motorboat, jet ski, C-kayak, paddleboard (SUP), and water bike, and you can apply in advance or apply on-site through the Danyang-gun Sports Council

Motorboats and jet skis, which are powered leisure equipment, can only be experienced on the first and second days, and non-powered leisure equipment can be experienced all four days.

Emergency responders are always on standby for the safety of experienced people, and pregnant women, the elderly, and preschoolers are restricted from participating due to safety

Flyboard performances will be held twice a day for four days, at 10 a.m. and 3 p.m., respectively, on the water surface in front of Sangjin Gye-ryu Market. It provides various performances using flyboards and hoverboards.

The experiential bubble show, which runs for two days from the first day of the festival, will be held twice a day at 3 p.m. and 6 p.m. on a special stage at Sangjin Gye-ryu Market.

On August 2, the opening ceremony celebration performance will be held at 7:30 p.m. at the special stage of Sangjin Gye-ryu Stadium. Comedian Song Joon-geun will be the MC and singers Hyunsuk, Park Sang-cheol, Lee Soo-ho, Choi Jung-hoon and Park Joo-hee will be on stage. After the celebration performance, a fireworks show will be held to embroider the summer night sky.

Water play facilities such as water slides and pools for children are established, and events are held only for participants complete with goggles and water guns.

In addition, various experience booths will be operated from August 1st to 2nd, including drawing and making programs under the theme of summer (water play). In addition, ordinary people, not athletes, can participate in the environmental protection campaign Paddle for the Oceans by riding SUP, water bike and kayaking together with the beautiful nature of Danyang.
