Gyeongju Expo Grand Park has been actively engaged in cultural exchanges with countries related to the Silk Road through various international events, from Istanbul-Gyeongju World Culture Expo in 2013 to Silk Road Gyeongju in 2015 to Ho Chi Minh-Gyeongju World Culture Expo in 2017.

“In line with the current government’s ‘Korea-Central Asia K Silk Road Cooperation Initiative’, the public corporation will also strive to establish an international city network between countries on the Silk Road,” said Kim Nam-il, president of Gyeongju Expo Grand Park. “We hope that ‘cooking noodles’, which combines the internationality, openness, and inclusiveness of Silla culture with food culture, will serve as an opportunity to understand and experience exchanges between East and West cultures more easily.”
