Seosan City Holds 18th ‘Samgil For Rockfish Festival’
An experience event will be held in Seosan, Chungcheongnam-do, where you can taste fresh rockfish and catch conger fish with your bare hands.
Seosan City announced on the 20th that it will hold the 18th Samgilpo Rockfish Festival in the area of Samgilpo Port in Daesan-eup from August 24 to 25.
Along with performances, experiences, and participation programs, rockfish tasting events, seafood discount stores, and food markets will be held at the event.
Singer Park Seo-jin, Jo Eun-sae and Yang Ji-won will be on the stage, and the Daesan-eup Folk Song Festival will be held on the special stage.
Festival experience events include rockfish poisoning, catching bare-handed conger, and releasing fish on board, and participating events include auctions of local specialties.
In addition, fireworks will be held at 9 p.m. on the 24th, the first day of the festival, to embroider summer nights in colorful colors.
Seosan Mayor Lee Wan-seop said, “As the festival is held in connection with nearby tourist destinations such as raw fish restaurants and Hwanggeumsan Mountain, it will contribute to revitalizing the economy through local tourism,”
adding, “I hope visitors will leave memories at experience events such as rockfish poisoning and catching bare-handed conger, which are popular every year.”
In addition, rockfish tasting events, seafood discount stores, food markets, and rockfish exhibitions linked to the Samgil Po Rockfish Festival will capture the taste of visitors.
