New Korean horror movie ‘Spring Garden’ on theatre August 21

Spring Garden, starring Cho Yoon-hee and Kim Joo-ryeong as sisters, is an original webtoon film based on a haunted house.

First of all, he drew the story of Neulbom Garden, known as Korea’s top three haunted houses on the online community, along with Gonjiam Psychiatric Hospital and Yeongdeok Family, which were released as horror movies.

So-hee (Cho Yoon-hee), who has even miscarried her baby due to her husband’s sudden suicide, lives alone in a rural house left by her husband. As bizarre things continue to happen here, So-hee begins to dig into the death of her husband, who had been doubtful.

It is a typical ghost movie in which a single spirit seeks revenge on the characters who have bullied him.

Song Ji-woo stars as Ji-won, the daughter of So-hee’s only family and older sister Hye-ran (played by Kim Joo-ryeong), who cares about her. Song Ji-woo will play a mysterious character in the play who acts mysteriously in her aunt’s house, Neulbom Garden, adding to the bleak atmosphere of the play.

Spring Garden was treated as a haunted house when an article titled “The Known Stories of Jechon Neulbom Garden (Spring Garden)” was posted on DC Inside around June 29, 2009.
A brief summary of the content is as follows.

Tens of years ago, Spring Garden was still a pretty famous restaurant. A waitress, the owner of the chef, and his wife lived with a daughter who was in a vegetative state. Shortly after the daughter died, the employee and wife also died in a car accident. The boss then turned on the gas in the kitchen and committed suicide. Even after these accidents, the store itself was so well-performing that it was purchased shortly afterwards.

Other ghost stories include “An unidentified employee brings me meat even if you don’t order it,” “All the dishes become clean in the morning which haven’t done by anyone” and “Someone hits on the head if a customer plays a silly joke.” As such a ghost phenomenon was repeated, the restaurant had to closed.

There is also an experience story posted about the place at a similar time, and it is said that students who always visited Spring Garden, similar to courage, ran away in a car after encountering the black shadow of a human figure on the second floor, but they kept hovering in the same place and lost their minds and were taken to the hospital.
