The Korean Nights, a combination of traditional markets and DJ
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Tourism Organization will showcase The Korean Nights, a pop-up store for the traditional market, at the 1960 Night Market in Seoul’s Dongdaemun district from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. every day from Aug. 16-18.
The pop-up was organized by the Korea Tourism Organization to promote the unique charm of the market and revitalize local commercial districts in connection with the “10 K-Tourism Markets” that recommend unique traditional markets across the country.
Under the theme of “Samil Yahwa (Three days & nights story),” 10 attractive promotional booths featuring the unique characteristics of 10 K-tourism markets can be found.
In addition to the traditional liquor tasting event, the corporation will also present grilled meat garlic skewers in Danyang, a special menu using local specialties from K-tourism markets, and chilled Sokcho shrimp.
In particular, it plans to provide visitors with a different experience by arranging DJing and indie band live performances.
In addition, from the 20th to September 1st, the Hikerground in Jung-gu, Seoul, and the Traditional Liquor Gallery in Jongno-gu, Seoul will hold an exhibition called “Travel to My Country with Traditional Liquor.”
Representative traditional liquor from eight regions (Yesan, Yeongdong, Damyang, Muju, Changwon, Mungyeong, Chuncheon, and Ganghwa) will be introduced in connection with retro tourism contents.
