New Jeans new teaser for Japanese debut single “Supernatural”

Part of the Japanese debut single title track “Supernatural” by the syndrome girl group “New Jeans” has been released for the first time.

At midnight on the 15th, New Jeans posted a teaser for the music video of “Supernatural” on Hive Label’s YouTube channel. The mysterious space and the members’ special styling that match the name of the song, which means a supernatural phenomenon, arouse curiosity.

Although it is a short teaser of about 30 seconds, it contains not only the melody of the song but also the vocals and performances of the members.

“Supernatural” is a new jack swing style song with nostalgic feelings and soft vocals. The song was reinterpreted by producer and DJ Iogong (250) after ad-libbing and bridging from the back of My Mind that American pop star and producer Pharrell Williams collaborated with Japanese singer Manami in 2009. It evokes nostalgia while adding sophisticated sensibilities.

The performance with genre characteristics is also eye-catching. New Jeans performed cheerful steps with dancers, showing off their disciplined group dance, while reviving their exorcist groove through freewheeling movements.

“New Jeans members, who have shown various choreography that matches the mood of the song, such as old school hip-hop, walking, and contemporary dance, will prove a wide spectrum with their original performances this time as well,” the agency said. Earlier, New Jeans predicted a lovely and lively atmosphere with the music video teaser for the single’s track “Right Now.”

New Jeans, which achieved four consecutive million-selling books with the domestic double single “How Sweet” released on the 24th of last month, will release “Supernatural” at 1 p.m. on the 21st and continue its momentum.

Notably, they will hold a fan meeting at Tokyo Dome for two days from July 26 to 27 upon their debut in Japan, and meet their fandom Bunnies. This is the record for entering Tokyo Dome for the shortest period since their debut as an overseas artist (one year and 11 months). Tickets for the first episode were sold out early on even though the event was held on weekdays.

In addition to Pharrell Williams, Newz Jeans’ Japanese debut single featured artists such as Murakami Takashi and Hiroshi Fujiwara. Official products with the two masters will be available at pop-up stores to commemorate the release of “Supernatural” in Korea and Japan on the 26th.
